After finishing fifth in the first ever Ballon d'Or for female footballers, Sam Kerr has gone even better finishing second in The Guardian's top 100 list of female footballers in 2018.
The well-respected media outlet had only Pernille Harder ahead of Kerr with Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg behind the Aussie in third.
Kerr had another incredible 2018 for club and country as she won the NWSL golden boot and Julie Dolan Medal for her efforts in the W-League with Perth Glory.
The Guardian had Kerr at third last year in their rankings and couldn't help but bump up her ranking after another special year.
"The Australian forward Kerr was once again one of the game's most prolific scorers in 2018, topping the NWSL charts for the second season in a row with 16 goals after swapping Sky Blue FC for Chicago Red Stars at the start of the year," The Guardian's description read.
"At international level she was once again the Matildas' talisman during a year in which they just missed out on the Asian Cup, losing 1-0 to Japan in the final.
"Three goals at that tournament contributed to an overall tally for club and country of 29 for the year."
Fellow Australians Lydia Williams, Elise Kellond-Knight, Emily van Egmond and Alanna Kennedy all also cracked the top 100 list.
It's big a 24 hours for the Matildas, who discover their World Cup group opponents on Sunday morning with Australia one of the top seeds for the tournament in France next year.
