The Argentine insists he now understands why Ingwe are lagging behind and has vowed to build a strong team for next season

AFC Leopards head coach Rodolfo Zapata has promised to narrow the gap between his team and Gor Mahia within the shortest time possible.

While K’Ogalo has enjoyed local and international success, Ingwe has struggled to command the local scene with their last league trophy coming way back in 1998. The Argentine is hoping to build his team and make it a force to reckon with in the near future.

“Gor Mahia has been consistent, they have maintained their team for quite some time and it has paid dividends. That has been our major undoing and we want to change it; like I said last time, we have a talented squad, talented young players who can hit greater heights.

“Next season we will be steps ahead, that I am sure, my main job right now is to ensure these players remain together,” Zapata told Goal.

Ingwe is currently third on 51 points, four behind second placed Bandari.
