The Anambra based side are contenders for a place in the country’s elite division thanks to their impressing form this season to stay in the second position in Group B2.

“For me, it is not the personal glory attached to my ability to score goals for my team, it’s about helping my team getting promoted to the NPFL,” Nwaiwu told Goal.

“We have been in fine form this season and with the help of our coaches and support from fans, we have been able to get crucial points both home and away.

“But we are not carried away and anything short of a place in the Nigeria Professional Football League will be a big disappointment to us because we are doing our very best.”

He also praised the level of competition in the National League, claiming life in the lower league is more tasking and puzzling.

“People feel the NNL is for average player but that is not the truth. Everybody cannot play in the NPFL at once,” he continued.

“Here, we also have great players as well and to be honest, there are a lot of national team materials in this cadre.

“The level of competition time season has been so high and I will tell you that any team who gets a chance to qualify has deserved that with hard work.”
