Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands is open to leaving the Soweto giants.

The experienced shot-stopper has found it difficult to regain his place in the Bucs starting line-up under Serbian coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.

Nonetheless, Sandilands, who has been left out of Pirates' 2018/19 Caf Champions League squad, has now been left to contemplate his future at the club.

"Obviously, you never know what might come. The club has to decide at the end of the day," Sandilands told SABC Sport.

"I am contracted to Pirates. So, the final decision will obviously come from them," he continued.

The 35-year-old keeper has made only one appearance for Pirates this season which came against Highlands Park in their first PSL match of the season.

The encounter ended in a 1-1 draw with Sandilands' costly mistake having led to Highlands Park's goal.

"I will only move if God directs me to move. That is the plain truth. The offers may come, but if God doesn't move me then I won't move," he said.

Sandilands is in his second season with Bucs having joined the club on a long-term deal in July 2017 after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns.

"I will stay here because I need to be where he needs me to be. At the end of the day, my life is bigger than football," Sandilands continued.

Siyabonga Mpontshane and Jackson Mabokgwane have been preferred ahead of Sandilands, while Brilliant Khuzwayo's return from injury has pushed the Benoni-born shot-stopper further down the pecking order.

"It is not all about football at the end of the day for me," the former Platinum Stars and SuperSport United shot-stopper stressed.

"Offers might come and if the club is willing to release me then I will consider it," he concluded.

Sandilands has made 12 appearances in the PSL since joining Pirates.
