Orlando Pirates to offer Golden Arrows Memela in exchange for Mahachi

Orlando Pirates will reportedly offer Lamontville Golden Arrows Luvuyo Memela in exchange for Kudakwashe Mahachi.

The 30-year-old winger has failed to command a regular place in the Bucs starting line-up since the arrival of Serbian coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic.

A source close to Memela has told The Citizen that the Cape Town-born player has been made aware of the pending move.

Memela reportedly feels that he can reach his full potential at Abafana Bes’thende as there will be less pressure.

“Pirates’ technical team want a strong left winger, someone mobile and effective," the source said.

"Memela is good but he has not really fitted the system the coach is trying to instil which is why the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch and Thabo Rakhale are being tried in that position ahead of him,” the source concluded.

The former Cape Town All Stars winger has made only three league appearances for the Buccaneers this season.

On the other hand, Mahachi has been one of Arrows' star players having netted four goals in 12 competitive games.

It remains to be seen whether Arrows would agree to sell Mahachi midway through the current campaign.
