Orlando Pirates Injury Update: Ben Motshwari and Linda Mntambo nursing injuries

Dube has resumed training with his team-mates, while Mntambo is currently nursing a hamstring injury

Orlando Pirates have provided an injury update ahead of Saturday's must-win Caf Champions League clash with Guinean champions Horoya AC.

The Soweto giants have revealed that two players, Ben Motshwari and Linda Mntambo are currently nursing injuries.

The 1995 Champions League winners released the following statement:

"According to the team, midfielder Ben Motshwari is recovering well from his hip injury and there are positive signs that he may train with the rest of the team this week."

"Motshwari who missed Pirates’ CAF Champions League 2-all draw against FC Platinum, will be eyeing a return for the crucial must-win CAF Champions League encounter against Horoya AC this weekend."

"Meanwhile, in other injury news midfielder Linda Mntambo continues to undergo rehabilitation on a hamstring injury. The medical team is currently observing the player and it is said that Mntambo is experiencing less pain and discomfort than before.'

"Another player on the mend is right back Mthokozisi Dube. He has completed his rehabilitation phase and has since been cleared to train with the rest of the team," another statement read.

Lastly, defender-come-midfielder Pako is close to recovering from an injury which he picked up during a friendly match.

"The diminutive Paseka Mako is also nearing complete fitness having recovered from a knock to the knee in a friendly match recently," the final statement read.

Pirates need a victory over Horoya to qualify for the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.
