Nwakaeme nets brace as Hapoel Be'er Sheva clinch Champions League third round spot

Anthony Nwakaeme netted a brace as Hapoel Be'er Sheva recorded a 3-2 away win over Budapest Honved to qualify for the Uefa Champions League third qualifying round.

Having won the first leg with a slim margin at home, John Ogu opened the scoring for Be'er Sheva in the 12th minute before Nwakaeme doubled the lead four minutes later.

Davide Lanzafame pulled a goal back for the hosts on the stroke of half time from the penalty spot, and in the 75th minute, Botond Barath put the hosts back in contention with the equaliser.

And with six minutes left to play, Nwakaeme had the final say with the winner – which ensured his side book a ticket to the next round 5-3 on aggregate.

The Camels will now face Ludogorets Razgrad who defeated Zalgiris Vilnius 5-3 over two legs to negotiate their way into the group stage.
