Nobody gets free points in the PSL, admits Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela

Komphela had targeted at least two points per match on average at the start of the season, but they're already six points behind after 10 league games

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has lamented the unpredictability of the league, especially this season as all teams struggle for maximum points on a regular basis.

Amakhosi have managed to collect 14 points from their opening 10 league matches; a return which could make it difficult for them to win the title.

Previously, coaches set a target of 60 points in order to stand any chance of winning the league, and Chiefs have already fallen behind that with at least six points.

However, Komphela is not worried at all, because Chiefs are not the only team struggling.

"Well if you look at the log, nobody gets free points. It's very tight and I don't know how far it will go," said Komphela.

"Are we going to get to a 60-point mark, which is more of your usual mark or will we get to 53 or 54 like the rest of the other seasons?" he quizzed.

"It's quite tough. It's not easy to pick up points in the Absa Premiership lately," added Komphela.
