After Melbourne City slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Western Sydney Wanderers, Mark Bosnich has criticised Warren Joyce's tenure at the club.

The former Manchester United youth coach is into his second season at City with the club close to securing their spot in the top six but not playing the most convincing football along the way.

Joyce's contract at City expires at the end of the season with Bosnich questioning what he's done to date and urging for a review of his tenure.

"After basically two seasons under Warren Joyce I haven’t seen any progress whatsoever and he’s got to take the responsibility for it," Bosnich said on Fox Sports.

"I don’t really know what they want to do, what team they want to be and to come up with this result four games out of the finals series - for me, it’s something you have to have a look and say what is actually going on there.

"We’ve given him chance after chance and now it’s coming up two years where someone’s been in charge and you have to ask 'has there been any progress?'

"And in my opinion, no there has not."

Despite the loss, City remain in fifth, seven points clear of seventh-placed Newcastle Jets.

Though seemingly finals' bound, Warren Joyce's side have won just one of their past eight matches.
