Muhoroni Youth, Sofapaka case set for second hearing

The case for Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka is yet to be concluded at the Sports Disputes Tribunal.

Thursday March 2 was the date for the first hearing and contrary to expectations of fans, who thought that a decision would be made to either retain the two clubs at the country’s top league or replace them with KCB and Vihiga United, a new date was set for the second hearing.

It will be on Wednesday March 8 and Tribunal chairman John Ohaga is hopeful that the process will not take long so as to pave way for the two clubs to play catch-up matches. “We met today (Thursday) and conducted the first hearing of the case but nothing substantial was decided on. We will meet for the second hearing next Wednesday.”

Also at the tribunal, Kenyan Premier League Limited officials were summoned to appear before the court on Monday for failing to follow orders given to them by the tribunal on league fixtures.

KPL confirm league kick-off date

“Yes, we ordered KPL to release fixtures with the existing teams as we wait for this case but they never did that. We have therefore ordered them to appear before us for explanation on their action,” he told Goal.

KPL have, however, promised to release the fixtures in the course of the day.
