Motivated Kano Pillars can hurt Enugu Rangers, says David Obiazor

Sai Masu Gida goalkeeper has expressed his conviction that the payment of their outstanding match bonuses can help guide them to Cup title

Kano Pillars’ David Obiazor has sounded out to Enugu Rangers that they won’t find it easy with them when they clash in the final of the Federation Cup on Wednesday in Asaba.

Obiazor was the hero when Sai Masu Gida defeated Katsina United in the semi-final of the Federation Cup on penalties and the goalkeeper affirmed that he and his teammates have been well motivated with the clearing of their match bonuses by the management of the club.

He said that the payment has come at the right time and that he and his teammates have been fired up to go the extra mile and go for the crown against the Flying Antelopes.

“Yes, we have received the match bonuses that have been lingering for quite some time,” Obiazor told Goal.

“This has come at the right time and we are all happy to proceed to Benin for the rest of our preparations for the Federation Cup final. It will help boost our morale as we embark on the journey and we are assuring all that we are not going to disappoint them.

“We have gone a long way to qualify for the final and it will be a great disservice if we are unable to win it. This is the closest we have been in over 20 years and we must make it count in Asaba.”

Kano Pillars' last appearance in the final of the oldest club competition was in 1991 when they narrowly lost 3-2 to El Kanemi Warriors but they were semi-finalists in 2012 edition of the same competition.
