Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has hailed his side's pre-season preparations so far.
Pirates have played a number of friendlies as they made camp in Zambia in preparation for the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign.
Speaking to the media in Zambia, the Serbian boss also heaped praise on the type of players being produced in the country.
Currently on their books, the Soweto giants have Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga who are both internationals.
“First of all this is the third phase of our preparations, we started in Johannesburg then went to Nelspruit,” Micho told reporters in Zambia.
“We played a couple of friendlies against Mazembe, Dynamos and Forest Rangers,” he said.
“I have a high degree of respect for this country called Zambia, the copper belt region that has given so much, not only to Cosafa, but the whole world when it comes to football,” he continued.
“Zambia is a competitive football country that has a specific way of playing, the never say die and never give up approach is what makes them the best,” responded the coach.
“The players have a big heart and coming here was a test of character for us, and when you play teams from Zambia, it’s really what we wanted, it gave us a proper test for our players,” said Micho.
“I wish to send Vandenbroeck (Zambia coach) all the best of luck in taking Chipolopolo forward to new heights,” Micho added.
“Zambia is a big country and they had a honeymoon after winning Afcon in 2012, they finished in the first round in 2013 and 2015 and qualification in 2017, but came close to reaching the world cup,” responded the coah.
“I still remember the match in Nigeria so the coach he has a job to do,” asserted the coach.
“Remember the U20s are African champions, that’s a fact and there’s a set of unbelievable players in the country so his job will not be easy, but in the same moment, I wish him all the best,” continued the former Uganda coach.
“He was happy with the quality of our players and I hope he will call our players, he said he will monitor them and I hope they deliver good performances for us to keep playing for their country’” concluded the coach.
