Medeama v Kotoko
The Miners have made it three wins out of three games whereas their Ashanti rivals fell on the road to Medeama

It has been just the perfect start for Ashanti Gold following their third straight victory in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

The Miners opened their campaign with a 1-0 triumph over 2015-16 champions Wa All Stars before upsetting Hearts of Oak 3-1 at home in Cape Coast.

And on Wednesday, their good form continued as Richard Osei Agyeman netted to hand the league leaders a 1-0 home win over new boys Karela FC.

Dreams FC have also done well for themselves so far, having won two games and drawn the other. Their latest triumph was down to danger man Zuberu Sharani, who scored the only goal of the triumph over All Stars.

Asante Kotoko, meanwhile, could not make it two wins in a row as they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Medeama at the T&A Park. Kwame Boateng's injury time penalty was the separating factor between the fifth-placed Yellow and Mauves and eighth-positioned Porcupine Warriors.

Elsewhere, Ghana under-17 striker Aminu Mohammed made it three goals in three games as his effort helped Wafa to a 2-0 win over cup holders Aduana Stars. Musah Nuhu fetched the other goal for the Academy Boys, who sit second on the log. The Fire Boys, on the other hand, occupy the 14th spot.

Newly-promoted Eleven Wonders finally picked their first win of the elite division following a 3-1 triumph over Bechem United. Abdul Wahab (2x) and Kwaku Adu were on the score sheet for the debutants while Maxwell Frimpong registered the Hunters' consolation.

In the last game of the day, Inter Allies made a return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Liberty Professionals. Joseph Baffour Gyawu's double ensured a brace for Kenichi Yatsuhashi's outfit, who have moved to fourth on the log. Without a win in two games, Liberty sit bottom of the table.

The match between Hearts of Oak and Ebusua Dwarfs comes off on Thursday, while the clash between Berekum Chelsea and Elmina Sharks has been postponed.
