Libya vs Nigeria: TV channel, live stream, team news & preview

Nigeria vs. Libya
The north Africans were decimated by the Nigerian in Uyo and will be eyeing a revenge mission to boost their Afcon 2019 chances

Nigeria won the first leg with a huge degree of comfort but will not expect to have things easy in the reverse fixture billed for Sfax.

The Super Eagles made a false start to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification, losing 2-0 at home to South Africa. However, their 3-0 victory in Seychelles seems to have turned their fortunes around as they are now second in Group E.

Libya are still hurt following their 4-0 defeat in Uyo, however, and will relish the opportunity to put one over on the three-time African Kings in Tunisia

Coach Omar Al-Maryami is expected to start goalkeeper Mohamed Abdaula in goal despite his fair showing in the first leg.

There are no injury worries in the camp of the Mediterranean Knights, so there is a high possibility of keeping fate in the starting XI that featured at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Gernot Rohr will be missing Ogenyi Onazi and Shehu Abdullahi through injury but he has the quality to fill their vacuum.

Match Preview

Libya were silenced 4-0 by Nigeria at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in the first leg played on Saturday.

Odion Ighalo’s treble propelled the 2013 African champions past the north Africans, before Samuel Kalu completed the rout in the closing stages of the game.

Tuesday’s visit to Sfax, however, represents another stiff test of Rohr’s Super Eagles since going down to South Africa in Uyo, and with a place in Cameroon 2019 a major priority – the Mediterranean Knights will be keen to take a strong result from Stade Taïeb Mhiri.

Key to Nigeria’s success so far have been the performances of strikers Odion Ighalo and Samuel Kalu, who have stepped up to make sure the absence of the departed Victor Moses has barely been felt.

Ighalo leads the qualification scoring charts alongside Knowledge Musona with four goals so far, while Mohamed Salah trails by three.

Rohr will be without Shehu Abdullahi and Onazi but the visitors will perhaps feel confident of a result against a shaky Libyan backline.
