Leicester City manager Claude Puel has lauded Nigerian international Wilfred Ndidi, who extended his stay with the club for another six years.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Foxes from the Belgian top-flight side Genk in January 2017, has gone to become one of the best midfielders in the English elite division since his arrival.

And owing to his incredible performances last campaign, he was named the club’s Young Player of the Year for the second time.

And Puel have acknowledged his immense contribution to the team since his move from Belgium.

“[Wilfred Ndidi] is comfortable with the ball and passes well," Puel told club website.

"He has the capacity to take information and play forward and it’s great to have this player on the team."

The Super Eagles midfielder will look forward to continuing his outstanding form when his side slug it out with Southampton in Saturday's Premier League clash at the St Mary’s Stadium.
