The Porcupine Warriors boss insists he is happy with the strikers at his disposal and will add only exceptional ones

Asante Kotoko coach Steve Polack says that despite growing calls from a section of the club's supporters to make an overhaul changes in the attacking department ahead of the new season, he will only add one or two clinical finishers.

The Kumasi giants scored a total of 23 goals in 30 games last season in the Ghana Premier League, with strikers Sadick Adams, Yakubu Mohammed, Obed Owusu and Abass Mohammed sharing 14 goals between them.

"I am not going to take anybody who will not be able to score goals. It doesn’t make sense to take somebody who isn't a [clinical] goalscorer," Polack told the club's website.

"We have a lot of strikers here, strikers who are on trial. We will just take a look at them but I have said it before it’s all about composure in front of goal and patience.

"If we were not creating chances, then I will have a problem but we are creating chances so I don’t have a problem. We are in pre-season and hopefully it will get better," he said.

He added: "We have one or two to add to that as well so we can be more competitive in the season but it doesn’t matter where they are coming from as long as they have the quality I am looking for the team".

Former Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe trained with the club last week but Goal understands that he left the training ground angrily when he was asked to undergo another trial. However, former Nigeria youth star Bright Ejike is likely to sign a three-year deal next week after having a successful trial.
