Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa will get their chance, says Leicester City’s Claude Puel

The Nigerians have not had enough playing time this term and the Foxes’ handler is upbeat of a change in fortune for them

Leicester City manager, Claude Puel is confident that Kelechi Iheanacho and Ahmed Musa will get their chance to contribute more to the team having had limited playing time under their belt this term.

Iheanacho teamed up with the King Power Stadium outfit from Manchester City in the summer for a fee of £25 million but has only played for 336 minutes.

For Musa, he has only made a single appearance for the senior team coming in the League Cup against Sheffield United in August where he scored his first and only goal this season.

But with December's hectic fixtures, the Foxes’ gaffer has given a hint that the players will get more playing time provided they keep working hard in training.

“He (Iheanacho) is a good player but he improves and he finds his place in the squad,” Puel told LeicesterMercury.

“We have a lot of players in this position. It is a good competition between them, perhaps a little more because for one or two positions we have six possibilities.

“We have Iheanacho, Islam Slimani, Ahmed Musa, Shinji Okazaki, Leo Ulloa and Jamie Vardy; it is a lot of players but I hope we can give them good game time for the future because we play every three days.

“It will need all these players with good qualities and attitude.

“They need to work hard in the training sessions to keep a good level. Of course, all the players want game time but the balance is difficult because we have a lot of players in the same position.”

Leicester will confront West Ham United for their next league encounter at London Stadium on November 24.
