Midfielder Keagan Buchanan is set to leave Kaizer Chiefs as he seeks to revive his fading career.
According to a source close to Isolezwe, Buchanan is frustrated by his lack of game time under Steve Komphela, and he's working on a possible loan move in the upcoming transfer window.
“His agent is working on getting him a loan deal,” said the newspaper's source.
“It is clear that he might not play again this season at Chiefs. I am not sure yet which team his agent is talking to about the loan deal, but it could happen in January,” added the source.
Buchanan, who joined Amakhosi at the beginning of last season from Bloemfontein Celtic, has been playing second fiddle to both George Maluleka and Hedrick Ekstein.
The emergence of Wiseman Meyiwa has also seen him fall further down in the pecking order, making it almost impossible for him to get game time.
The midfielder's career at the club has been marred by long-term injuries, and Komphela hasn't been able to find him a permanent position in his starting line-ups.
Buchanan has featured three times for the Glamour Boys so far this season and has a single assist to his name.
In over a year-and-a-half at Chiefs, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder has managed no more than 10 official appearances.
