Perhaps unsurprisingly, Australian skipper Mile Jedinak responded to Mourinho's prediction by declaring the Socceroos share his belief.
"It's a compliment to the group but more importantly it's what we believe in and how we work on things," Jedinak said.
"We're all focused on doing the right thing on a daily basis.
"Do we wish France was tomorrow? Probably not. It's nice to get another hit-out together, with the way we've been working, beforehand.
"This period has been vital for us. Everyone has been very focused and determined."
The Socceroos finish off their World Cup preparation with a friendly against Hungary before kicking off Group C against France on June 16 in Kazan.
Australia claimed their first win under Bert van Marwijk in a recent 4-0 win over Czech Republic with the Socceroos rising four places in the world rankings as a result.
