John Ogu hails Nigeria's 'great' showing despite 'tough' playing condition in Seychelles

Following their 3-0 victory over Seychelles, John Ogu has hailed Nigeria's performance while highlighting the poor condition in which they had to grab the result.

Goals from Ahmed Musa, Chidozie Awaziem and Odion Ighalo's second-half penalty helped Gernot Rohr's side register their maiden win in the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying series.

And Ogu, who saw the entire action from the sidelines with Gernot Rohr preferring Ogenyi Onazi, praised his teammates whose performance he tagged 'great' despite having to play on a 'tough synthetic' Stade Linite pitch.

"Great team performance from the boys on a strong and tough synthetic pitch. Naija all the way," Ogu tweeted.

Despite the impressive result away in the tiny East African country, the Super Eagles remain in the third spot after the other group game between South Africa and Libya ended in a 0-0 draw.

The three-time African champion face Adel Amrouche’s side in their next Afcon qualifiers on October 9.
