ISL 2018-19: Josep Gombau - Delhi Dynamos didn't deserve to win

Delhi Dynamos coach Josep Gombau rued the fixture schedule of the Indian Super League (ISL) after his team put out a dire performance in a goalless draw against Chennaiyin FC on Tuesday.

The Lions, playing at home, failed to make an impact in the game and had created clear-cut chance to score the match. Their first shot of the game at the stroke of half-time. Chennaiyin FC switched gears in search for a goal in the second half and pinned the hosts to their back foot.

"The first half was very equal. We had a lot of the ball, they sat back and tried to have transition moments from our mistakes. I think we did quite well. In the second half, our team was very tired after three games in nine days. It is very difficult to manage," Gombau said.

"They had chances and they were in control of the game (in the second half). Our goalkeeper had a very good game."

After a run of three games in the space of nine days, Gombau said, "The team is working hard. No complaints, I am satisfied with all the boys. The schedule is crazy, we are the team that has more games in a short time. It is not good for anyone. It is not something usual in football.

"It is just today that we did not deserve to win. In the other games, we created chances and we deserved more."
