Inter Allies defender Wahab Ackwei believes they will prevent Asante Kotoko from winning at home for the first time this season as well as worsening their troubles in the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko were humbled 1-0 a fortnight ago in Accra by fierce rivals Hearts of Oak but boast of a good home record, winning all their four matches played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi so far this term.
Allies are yet to win an away fixture this campaign, losing three and sharing the spoils once.
Ackwei, 22, is confident of finding the back of the net against Kotoko on Sunday to breathe life into his side’s campaign.
“I am working very hard to score more goals this season and I am 100 per cent sure I will be scoring against Asante Kotoko this weekend [in Kumasi],” Footballghana.com.
“We are fully prepared for the game because Kotoko are a big club and our plan is to spoil their unbeaten home record. We want to win and we are ready to halt their home record. I am optimistic that we will beat them on Sunday,” he added.
Kotoko currently sit second on the table, 17 points tied with leaders Aduana Stars, who welcome title holders Wa All Stars to the Nana Agyeman Badu Park on Sunday.
