Philip Billing considers himself ‘a Dane’ and as such has no interest in turning out for Nigeria.

The Huddersfield Town midfielder, of Nigerian descent, was born in Denmark and represents the country’s U21 side.

His link to the west African country has seen get overtures as regards playing for the Super Eagles.

But the 22-year-old said he has his heart set on representing the 2018 World Cup quarter-finalists.

"I know my agents have said that Nigeria has approached them. There's not much in it ... that's the most if I want to play for the Nigerian national team, so I think it could be possible. But that's not something I'm thinking about," Billing told BT.

On whether he could be tempted to switch allegiance to Nigeria, he continued: "No, I see myself as a Dane, and I also play the Danish U21 national team. So no, I have not thought if I should be honest.”
