'He's one of the best in the world' - Vice-president Nedved would welcome 'wonderful' Pogba return

Paul Pogba would be a "wonderful" signing for Juventus according to vice-president Pavel Nedved, amid fresh speculation linking the France international with leaving Manchester United.

Tuttosport report that Juve, who beat United 1-0 in the Champions League in mid-week, are planning to secure a return on loan for the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

The deal would be with a view to securing a permanent transfer worth €70 million (£62m/$80m) in the following summer just four years after he return to Old Trafford for a second spell.

Nedved has done little to dampen the speculation, which has intensified during an up-and-down start to the campaign for Pogba.

“I think Pogba is one of the best players in the world, so it’d be wonderful, but he’s at Manchester and therefore talking about it is futile," he told Sky Sport Italia ahead of the Serie A clash with Empoli.

“We’re alert on the transfer market, but January is a long way away.”

Pogba's relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho has fragmented through the current campaign.

The ex-Le Havre man was removed as United's vice-captain in September after Mourinho deemed the World Cup winner had started to put his own interests ahead of the club's.

Mourinho then gave Pogba a public dressing down during a training session following an ill-timed social media post in the wake of the Carabao Cup defeat to Derby County.

And with Pogba's on-field performances showing no sign of improving as United continue to struggle, rumours he could leave the club for a second time have resurfaced.

Ever since Pogba's agent Mino Raiola stated he wanted to take his client away from United , the midfielder's future has been riddled in uncertainty.

He first left United for a nominal fee in 2012, moving to Juve where he enjoyed a fine four-year spell, winning four Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia twice and Italian Super Cup on two occasions each.

Though he returned to England with a flourish, amid Mourinho's move to the Theatre of Dreams, his form has failed to match the club-record £89 million (€100m/$114m) paid for his services.
