The Anderlecht frontman made his first appearance in a non-competitive game against Togo in June where he made a cameo as the Super Eagles won by 3-0 but has not been invited by Gernot Rohr since the outing.
However, the forward has gotten another opportunity to prove himself to the gaffer ahead of the World Cup in Russia next year where Nigeria already secured their place after garnering 13 points from five duels.
And the Everton loanee has taken to the social media to show his delight ahead of his official bow while also vowing that the Super Eagles will put in their best in the outing.
“My first full international call up for the Nigeria National Team! God is great,” Onyekuru tweeted.
“Blessed to be able to share this moment with these guys and we will do our best to make Nigeria proud,” he concluded.
