Abiodun Thompson will remain sidelined for Heartland in Sunday's Nigeria Professional Football League clash against Yobe Desert Stars.

According to team manager, Mobi Oparaku, the striker failed to recover from the ankle injury he picked against Sunshine Stars in their opening match of the season.

“We have some minor injury worries ahead of the Sunday game with Yobe Stars but it is only Thompson’s own that is serious because he is just recovering from an injury,” Oparaku told Goal.

“The weekend game is still too early for him to play. He will continue to train and we will continue to monitor his progress to know when he will come back.
