Gyan eyeing Galatasaray upset on Turkish Super Lig debut

Kayserispor striker Asamoah Gyan believes his outfit cannot be underrated in the Turkish Super Lig opener against Galatasaray.

The Ghanaian, who joined the Anatolian Star last month, is expected to spearhead coach Marius Sumudica's attack in Monday's fixture at the Turk Telekom Stadium.

He transferred from Chinese club Shanghai SIPG following a loan spell with Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates last season.

"Since I first came to Kayseri, there has been a lot of interest in me and my colleagues," Gyan told Dogan News Agency.

"I know that Galatasaray is a great team and it will be a tough match.

"But nobody should see us as a small team because football is ninety minutes.

"Anything can happen, the result will be announced after ninety minute and so we'll see."

Gyan looks to be in good form for the big opener after scoring three times in two pre-season games.

The 31-year-old netted a double on his debut as Kayserispor handed German side Hannover 96 a 4-2 defeat.

He was again on the scoresheet in the 1-1 stalemate with Qatari outfit Al Duhail in the Anatolian Star's last match.
