AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia faced each other for the second time this season, to determine the team to play Hull City next month.

Initially, it was K’Ogalo, who had that chance, but in a swift turn of events, the Kenyan Premier League champions had to go past their bitter rivals Ingwe. The former's CEO Omondi Aduda has told Goal why the match had to be played.

“AFC Leopards went to the sponsors and demanded to face us, to determine which side plays against Hull City and we obliged. I am just happy that we have proved to them we are way ahead, even with a second string side we managed to get a win.

“It is up to us now to prepare well for the match as well as other competitive matches ahead of us.”
