The Inter forward continues to generate exit talk ahead of the summer after struggling to nail down a regular role at the ambitious Serie A club

Gabriel Barbosa’s agent insists the forward is “happy” at Inter but has refused to rule out a summer transfer amid talk of interest from Liverpool.

Which wonderkids are now struggling?

The Brazilian, commonly known as Gabigol, generated much fanfare in the summer of 2016 when he completed a move from Santos to the San Siro.

The 20-year-old was considered to be one of the most exciting prospects in world football and a man ready to take on a European challenge.

His Italian adventure has turned into something of a nightmare, though, with just eight appearances made in all competitions.

Gabigol has seen more football since the turn of the calendar year, but he is yet to be handed a first start in Serie A.

A lack of opportunities has sparked talk of another possible switch for a man who signed a five-year contract with Inter upon his arrival, with Liverpool having held a long-standing interest.

His representative is eager to avoid rocking the boat at this stage, with the window still closed, but he has kept the door open to potential suitors.

Wagner Ribeiro told Tuttomercatoweb: “Gabriel is an Inter player.

“When we chose this club we signed a contract until 2021, and there were no specific clauses included guaranteeing obligatory minutes, let alone a starting spot.

Gabigol: I want to make history

“He’s happy in Milan, he’ll fight for more space.

“Could he leave in June? I don’t know, the future is in God’s hands, not mine.”

Gabigol opened his goal account for Inter in a 1-0 victory over Bologna in February, but he has been restricted to just one more appearance since then.
