EXTRA TIME: Elneny aims dig at Alexis Sanchez after League Cup final berth

The 25-year-old midfielder took a swipe at the Chilean forward with a cheeky tweet after the Gunners sealed a date with Man City at Wembley

Mohamed Elneny has hit out at Alexis Sanchez following Arsenal’s 2-1 triumph over Chelsea in Wednesday’s English League Cup semi-final encounter.

Antonio Rudiger’s own goal and Granit Xhaka’s second-half effort were enough for Arsene Wenger’s men to book a place at Wembley.

After putting up a starring performance at the heart of the Gunners' midfield, the Egypt international joined his teammates in posting celebratory messages on social media but with a perceived dig at Sanchez who left the Emirates Stadium to join rivals Manchester United this month.

The Gunners will lock horns with Manchester City on February 25 in the final of the English League Cup.
