Harambee Stars defender Eugine Asike has revealed that he will not renew his contract with Tusker.
This is after the former Sofapaka star confirmed that he had received offers from top Zambian club and was keen to make a move. Asike has run his three-year contract with the brewers and is not keen to extend the same.
A source closed to the player has confirmed to Goal that the defender is weighing options from the offers he has received from Zambia. “Asike cannot ignore the offers he already has on the table from Zambia. Two teams are keen to secure his services and he is keen to pick one and move on.
“It is true Tusker were keen to extend the contract but the player turned that down because the club was too slow to negotiate the same.”
Asike was part of the massive exodus of senior players at Sofapaka in 2015, penning a three-year long deal with the brewers.
The former KCB player aided his side in clinching a double in 2016 - KPL title and Gotv Shield and hence returned to the prestigious Caf Champions League.
