Enyimba’s Dare Ojo has charged Nigerian fans to learn a great deal from the way north African fans support their clubs after the People’s Elephant were shown the way out of the Caf Confederation Cup at the semi-final stage.
Ojo disclosed that the spectators that graced the return leg tie in Casablanca were massive and that they never stopped supporting Raja from the blast of the referee’s whistle until the end.
He said Nigerian fans need to stick behind their teams from the beginning to the end regardless of the result. The former Kwara United defensive midfielder also praised the effort of his teammates for braving the odds and playing the way they did against in Casablanca.
“First, for all we must give thanks to God for bringing us this far to the semi-final of the Caf Confederation Cup,” Ojo told the media.
“It is not that easy. We have tried our best but it was not enough to take us to the final. It was a bad result for us we are not that happy but life goes on and we have to continue. At the beginning of the competition, we never believed that we would go this far.
“Aba fans have a lot to learn from the fans of Raja Casablanca. Fans play a major role in the outcome of football matches and our fans back home must learn to massively support their clubs just like what we experienced in Morocco."
