Go Round head coach Ngozi Elechi is proud of his players' display as they secured their first ever top-flight win in a 1-0 triumph over Akwa United in Omoku.
Adelani Adeseun's lone strike in the 17th minute gave the NPFL new boys the all-important victory over Abdu Maikaba's men at the Krisdera Stadium on Sunday.
And the gaffer, who earlier saw his side bowed 1-0 to Wikki Tourist in Bauchi, is proud they subdued the Promise Keepers and he is sure they can hold their own in the NPFL.
"It was a difficult. Though we knew it will be a tough match playing against the Federation Cup champions (Akwa United)," Elechi told Goal.
"I commend my boys for the good fight they put up against a team described as the best in the country last season.
"We were a little bit jittery in the first half but we came back mentally strong and took control of the game in the second half to win in the end. From the first day, many believed Go Round would not do well in the (topflight) league.
"With the quality, we have shown and victory we got against Akwa United, that showed we are here to stay. Yes, I was under pressure playing my first match at home against Akwa United that has a lot of experienced players facing my young lads.
"That's because we want to win our first match at home in the Nigerian League and I am glad they have delivered. We have also proved we can beat any side.
"Definitely, every game we play, we have to change our formations to allow every player a chance to play. We know it will be tough against Lobi Stars just like Akwa United.
"We heard Lobi won in Enugu against Rangers which means as we are going away we must change our tactics in Markudi. We are not scared at all but ready to go there and win."
