Moses Ogbu outshines Chinedu Obasi in Sirius’ victory over Elfsborg

Chinedu Obasi and Moses Ogbu were on target in Sirius’ 4-2 victory over Elfsborg in Saturday’s Swedish Allsvenskan game.

Obasi joined the Yellow Ones in August after he was released by Bolton Wanderers at the end of the 2017-18 season after he failed to make a single appearance for the English Championship side.

The forward, on his eighth appearance for his new club, scored his third goal but was not enough to save Jimmy Thelin’s men from their 14th league defeat this term.

The former Schalke 04 player found the back of the net in the 20th minute from the penalty spot to extend the Boras Arena outfit’s lead shortly after Tim Bjoerkstroem had turned the ball into his own net.

Ogbu started the fightback for the Blue-black with his 34th-minute effort before Christer Gustafsson levelled matter 11 minutes later.

Mohammed Saeid gave Kim Bergstrand’s men the lead in the encounter and Ogbu completed his brace to seal the victory for the visitors.

Both players will be hoping to continue the goalscoring form when Elfsborg take on GIF Sundsvall and Sirius face Trelleborg on October 21.
