Ulinzi Stars right-back Brian Birgen hopes that the wounded Soldiers will pick themselves up even as he exits the team for remainder of the season.
Birgen will not be part of the team for the second half of the season as he leaves to pursue career progression courses in the military.
Birgen, who played his final match of the season in a 2-1 defeat against Sofapaka at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru last weekend, believes Ulinzi Stars have what it takes to rise from the defeat.
“Definitely, I would have liked to exit with a win but that is part of the game. I trust that my teammates will lift the team from this current low and get back to winning ways, for the good of the club and the fans,” Birgen told Ulinzi Stars' website.
The defender missed the opening three matches of the season as he recovered from a preseason injury, but featured in all of Ulinzi Star's matches on his return.
“I wish them all well as I leave for my course and I will always support the team and follow their performance.”
Ulinzi Stars are second on the log with 28 points, three behind leaders Gor Mahia.
