Asante Kotoko appoint Fabin as new coach until 2019

Ghana FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko have announced the appointment of Paa Kwesi Fabin as the club's new coach, replacing Steve Polack who was relieved of his duties on Friday.

The Porcupine Warriors were knocked out of the Caf Confederation Cup last week, after losing 7-6 on penalties to Congolese side CARA Brazzaville, and that defeat, added up to the club's inability to win the Ghalca G8 tournament and Super Cup against Aduana Stars.

The recent poor run saw Polack's positive start to the 2016-17 season go up in smoke.

According to Goal's sources, Fabin has been tasked by the club's top hierarchy to win the Ghana Premier League and defend the FA Cup title in his first season.

He becomes the eighth manager that Kotoko have appointed since 2013, after Didi Dramani, David Duncan, Michael Osei, Zdravko Lugarosic, Frimpong Manso, Godwin Ablordey and Polack.
