Asamoah: My first Inter goal will come sooner or later

The Ghanaian is eyeing his maiden strike for the Nerazzurri following his summer transfer

Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is eagerly awaiting his first goal for his new club.

The Ghanaian is among the new faces at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this season, having joined the Nerazzurri from Juventus in a three-year deal in the summer.

With seven appearances in all competitions for Luciano Spalletti's outfit so far, the 29-year-old has already endeared himself to fans of the club with some fine displays. But he wants to take his game a step further.

"I am pleased with what the team and I are producing. I'm happy about everything," Asamoah, largely deployed by Spalletti at left-back, told Inter TV

"I'm pleased we're on the right track and that we've won nearly all of our matches.

"I know I'm yet to score but I'm always happier about everything when we win.

"I know a goal will come sooner or later."

Asamoah also lauded the club's fans for their unflinching support in what has indeed been a trying opening few games of the season.

Inter needed a 77th minute strike to beat Fiorentina in their last match on Tuesday, and stoppage time goals to win their preceding two games.

"It's always been great because I've seen that the fans never stop [supporting the team] all game long and that's what we need to do as well in order to grab the team by the scruff of the neck," said, the Black Star.

"They were fantastic [again Fiorentina] and we need to show that same spirit in our next match."

Asamoah is expected to be handed his eighth Inter appearance in all competitions when they host Cagliari in Serie A on Saturday.
