Alex Iwobi, Mohamed Elneny to join Arsenal squad for Singapore tour

After representing their countries at the World Cup in Russia, the duo are expected to return for the Gunners' trip to Asia

Alex Iwobi and Mohamed Elneny have been confirmed to join Arsenal for the International Champions Cup in Singapore next week.

Following Nigeria and Egypt’s elimination from the World Cup at the group stage, Iwobi and Elneny have been on holidays and they are yet to join their teammates to prepare for the 2018-19 season.

Unai Emery's men are scheduled to fly to Singapore on July 22 where they will play Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint Germain on July 26 and July 28 respectively at the Singapore National Stadium.

And the African duo with Germany's Mesut Ozil are expected to join the squad in the journey to the Far East.

“Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elneny and Alex Iwobi are all joining the travelling squad of our pre-season tour to Singapore,” read a statement on club website.

“The trio will be in Asia after returning from World Cup duty where they were representing Germany, Egypt and Nigeria.”

Arsenal, currently training at London Colney, began Unai Emery's era with a comfortable 8-0 win over non-league side Boreham Wood on Saturday.
