Three come in at Western Sydney, while five leave Melbourne City

They might be without a coach but Western Sydney Wanderers have confirmed the signings of three players with Melbourne City trio Bruce Kamau, Nick Fitzgerald and Ruon Tongyik joining the club.

The three players were linked to the Wanderers under Josep Gombau, with his sacking at the end of the season doing nothing to scupper the deals.

Prior to confirming the moves, Melbourne City announced the departures of the trio along with Manny Muscat and Christian Cavallo.

Kamau and Tongyik join Western Sydney on two-year deals while Fitzgerald, who grew up in the area, is contracted for three seasons in the red and black.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas stressed the importance of the trio and the club's commitment to signing player's with local roots.

"During the season there were some players that we identified to bring into our squad for the 2018/19 season and we are delighted to announce them today," said Tsatsimas.

"Bruce and Ruon are fantastic young talents that were identified earlier this season and we are very happy to have secured their signatures for the next two seasons.

"Nick Fitzgerald is a Blacktown boy who has blossomed in the Hyundai A-League over the past eight seasons. Having players who are born and bred in Western Sydney playing for the club is a tradition we want to continue."
