Agyemang eyes Wa All Stars scalp in Super Cup

Bechem United captain Badu Agyemang insists they will hand Ghana Premier League champions Wa All Stars a defeat to win the 2017 Ghana Super Cup title at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The 25-year-old, who has risen through the ranks at the club to become the new captain, following the departure of Issah Adamu, believes that the addition of Amed Toure and other top players have strengthened their squad.

Bechem won the 2016 Ghana FA Cup after defeating second-tier side Okwawu United 2-1 four months ago.

"We won the FA Cup against all odds and will want to repeat it this time around," Badu told Goal.

"We are aware of the threat that Wa All Stars possess but the addition of several fresh legs like Amed Toure and Osman Bashiru and others to our squad make us a complete team than previous seasons.

"Winning the cup will be a big boost for us ahead of the new season, especially in the Caf Confederations Cup. The venue will be quite intimidating since All Stars are from north but we will not be bothered and rather focus on the game because we've been playing Hearts and Kotoko at such venues in the past."

He added: "We have a new coach and would want to make him and supporters happy. Therefore, we will not settle for anything aside victory and the players are aware."

Bechem were billed to tour United Arab Emirates but the trip was cancelled due to the rescheduling of the start of the new season.

However, All Stars arrived in Ghana on Friday after their pre-season in Sudan, where they lost 3-1 to Al Hilal in a friendly.
