Go Round Adelani Adeseun is proud after he helped his side's subdue Akwa United 1-0 to earn their first ever Nigeria Professional Football League win.
The forward scored in the 17th minute from a defensive mixup by Abdu Maikaba's men to hand the NPFL newcomers their first goal and win of the season at the Khsidera Stadium.
While the win was enough to see them move up to 11th position, the newly promoted side are now three points adrift of table-toppers Niger Tornadoes.
Adeseun, who refused to claim all the glory, attributed the scoring feat to the support of his teammates and motivation from the technical crew as he dreams big with Go Round.
"I am so proud. I am very happy with my goal and it is a great honour for me to score my team's our first goal in the NPFL,” Adeseun told Goal.
“I must give credits to my fellow players who gave me the chance and support too. It would not have been possible too without the encouragement from the coaches and other staffs.
“It was an important victory we got against Akwa United because it was our first in the league. I strongly believe it will motivate us to do well this season.
"Winning against Akwa has shown to us that anything is possible if we play as a team and fight together with much determination and focus."
Following their maiden NPFL win, Ngosi Elechi’s men will travel to Markurdi to face fourth-placed Lobi Stars in their next league encounter on Sunday.
