A Samuel Onyango goal was all Gor Mahia needed to silence Sofapaka FC in a league match played at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Sunday.
Batoto ba Mungu came into the match riding on a high form following their five consecutive wins, including a confidence boosting 4-1 win against Mathare United last week.
For Gor Mahia, things had started looking up, but their defeat away to Petro Atletico in the Caf Confederation Cup seemed enough to dent their newly collected confidence in the game.
But that was not the case as they proved they are still the team to beat, with a dominant display that even the home team could not match.
With about twenty minutes to the break, Sofapaka allowed striker Onyango to find his way through, before pulling the trigger for the lone goal.
It is a fourth win in a row for the Hassan Oktay led side; the other wins registered prior to Sunday's game were against Sony Sugar, Vihiga United and bitter rivals AFC Leopards.
Gor Mahia XI: Fredrick Odhiambo, Philemon Otieno, Shafik Batambuze, Joash Onyango, Haron Shakava, Ernest Wendo, Kenneth Muguna, Francis Kahata, Samuel Onyango, Nicholas Kipkirui and Jacques Tuyisenge.
Reserves: Shaban Odhoji, Joachim Oluoch, Benard Ondiek, George Odhiambo, Lawrence Juma, Dennis Oliech and Erisa Ssekisambu.
