It was definitely going to be a close encounter considering the fact that the two sides had won against each other five times, and drawn as many matches, scoring and conceding the same number of goals.
The two teams were aiming at getting two wins in a row; Leopards had claimed a 1-0 win against Sony Sugar last weekend, with the Dockers recording the same score line against visiting Kakamega Homeboyz.
Ingwe started the match as the likeliest side to score, but that could have changed in the 9th minute. Yema Mwana was released on the right wing, but despite beating an offside trap, pressure by Abdalla Salim saw him shoot just wide.
In the 14th minute, the towering defender was lucky to stay on the pitch after the referee missed an incident that could have warranted him a direct red card. His studs caught the abdomen of Hassan Abdalla, who went down in pain, but the officials missed that incident.
Leopards had the perfect opportunity of scoring with thirty minutes on the clock. Ezekiel Odera was pulled back by Fred Nkata and the referee was spot on. Alex Orotomang's effort went in after hitting the inside of the cross bar but much to the surprise of many, the goal was not awarded.

A share of the spoils!
Till next week
See you soon
In the 51st minute, Odeny could have opened the scoring for the twelve times league champions, but he was caught unawares in the danger zone and the ball went on for a goal kick.
A few minutes later, Bandari had an opportunity to trouble Ezekiel Owade in Leopards' goal after 'Shittu' committed a foul in the danger zone, but Nicholas Mejja curler was well taken.
The perfect chance for Leopards to get a winner came in the 76th minute when Vincent Oburu managed to spot Odeny and pass him the ball, but despite the latter beating Faroukh Shikhalo, the ball went in for a goal kick.
At the end of the day, it was a historic barren draw considering the fact that no match between the two teams has ever ended goalless.
