UEFA Champions League
UEFA Europa League
UEFA Conference League Qualifiers

That's it from me here tonight. Until the next time, adios!
Given Real Madrid and Barcelona's various struggles this season, it's difficult to see exactly who is going to stop Atletico from winning the title. This was a polished, professional performance with plenty of hard work, organisation and individual quality - albeit against a Valencia side who stay 14th in the table.
Atletico go seven points clear at the top with two games in hand after a very well deserved win. An evenly-contested first half sparked into life when Racic curled a stunning shot into the top corner from range, but the hosts equalised as Joao Felix volleyed home from a corner at the back post. Atletico took control of the game in the second half and took the lead through a top-drawer finish from Suarez, before Correa slid home to make the game safe with 20 minutes to play.
90' + 4' Correia has injured himself with the last kick, racing back to prevent Carrasco running through on goal after a Valencia corner was cleared. He did brilliantly to get back but went down as soon as he reached the ball.
90' + 3' Atletico have come from behind and turned a competitive game into a routine home win. The stuff of champions?
90' + 1' Three minutes of stoppage time.
90' Fair play to referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea. He collided with a player in the Valencia half and had to sprint half the length of the pitch to catch up with the play as the visitors attacked and won a corner. After 90 minutes, that was a good effort.
89' Valencia win a corner on the right. It comes to Gabriel but seems to surprise the defender, and he can't turn it goalwards, though he does manage to win another corner. Gaya tries his luck twice from the edge of the area but both shots are immediately blocked and Atletico eventually clear their lines.
87' Correa goes close to a second! Torreira wins the ball off Gaya to the right of the penalty area and picks out Correa with a low cross. He shoots first time but Domenech reacts well to tip it into the side netting.
86' Into the final five minutes now, and a Valencia comeback seems unlikely. In truth, Oblak hasn't really been troubled since Racic scored.
L. Torreira
T. Lemar
85' Arsenal loanee Torreira has been in the gossip pages this week. There has been talk the Gunners want to recall him and send him back out on loan somewhere he'll get more first-time minutes. He'll get five of them here tonight, as he replaces Lemar.
84' Jason clips in a first-time cross from the right but again the quality just isn't there, and again it goes straight to Oblak.
83' Soler tries to slip a ball through to Jason at the edge of the area, but his pass is overhit and Oblak scoops it up.
81' A Valencia corner bounces out to Gaya at the edge of the area after Renan Lodi clears. It comes to him at a nice height but on his weaker foot, and his first-time effort spins unceremoniously out for a throw-in on the right.
K. Koindredi
U. Račić
80' And the goalscorer Racic makes way too, with Koindredi his replacement.
K. Gameiro
Manu Vallejo
79' Gameiro is on in attack, replacing Vallejo.
Y. Musah
79' Some changes coming for Valencia. Musah goes off, Jason comes on.
79' Domenech comes out to punch the ball clear from the resulting free-kick.. He leaps through the air and punches with both fists. There was nobody challenging him so it perhaps wasn't completely necessary, but it sure did look good.
78' Koke does well to pick up a loose ball and shield it from Gaya, who fouls him. Koke gets back up and wants to take the free-kick quickly with a man wide open to his right, but the referee won't allow it. Gaya went down holding his mouth, so perhaps he thought there was a facial injury.
S. Savić
Yellow Card
76' Savic is booked for a grab on Guedes on the halfway line.
G. Kondogbia
75' Simeone makes another sub. Llorente off, Kondogbia on in midfield. Will we see Dembele tonight?
74' Atletico go close again with a similar move to Correa's goal. This time it's Carrasco down the right, sliding the ball across to Llorente in the middle, but a defender gets across to make a good block.
Á. Correa
72' GOAL! Correa makes it 3-1, that might just do it! It's an incisive move from Atletico down the right. Llorente is played in behind and he carries the ball forward, drifts into the penalty area and pulls it back for a tap-in for the substitute.
72' Llorente gets the assist for a good run with a simple pass at the end of it.
70' Correia charges down Renan Lodi by his own corner flag, but the Atletico man smashes a clearance against him and out for a goal kick.
69' The first half was very even, with the home side just about on top of things. Since the break, they have been firmly in control. Valencia have hardly had a sniff of a chance.
67' Oh, that was a waste from Atletico. Lemar tackles Racic in midfield and carries the ball forward with a three-on-three. He lays it off to Correa to his right, but the substitute dithers on the ball and the shooting opportunity fizzles out. It eventually comes to Llorente at the edge of the area but he shanks a first-time effort way over the crossbar.
65' Atletico haven't been shy to get men forward in attack tonight but they drop into that 5-4-1 system so quickly when the ball is lost. It will take a good piece of play to break them down.
63' Correa has scored in both of his two appearances against Valencia in this stadium. If he gets another one tonight, you would imagine Atletico will win the game.
Á. Correa
João Félix
62' Joao Felix goes off after an excellent performance. A goal and an assist for him tonight. Correa comes on.
61' Musah looks to slide in a low cross from the right but it's a weak effort, easily cut out. He was good in the first half but that was a waste of a good position, and he's lucky his side manage to force a corner.
60' Suarez has now been involved in nine goals in his last 11 league games against Valencia. He's also now joint-top scorer in the division with 12 for the season. You'd be kicking yourself if, say, you had let him leave for free!
Gonçalo Guedes
D. Cheryshev
58' A second change for the visitors. Guedes comes on to replace Cheryshev.
58' Valencia started the first half slowly and they have done again in the second - only this time, Atletico have made them pay with a goal. Can they fight back?
56' Gimenez almost gets up high enough to meet Carrasco's free-kick at the edge of the six-yard box, but he can't quite reach it and it floats into the hands of Domenech.
João Félix
54' Joao Felix has an assist to go with his goal. Simeone said before the game that he wanted to see him looking dangerous again after some quiet performances, and it's safe to say he has delivered.
L. Suárez
54' GOAL! 2-1 ATLETICO, VINTAGE LUIS SUAREZ! Felix recieves the ball in space on the left touchline and drives infield, laying the ball off for Suarez at the corner of the area. He gets to the edge of the six-yard box and, while the angle looks to be tight, slips the ball calmly around Domenech and in off the far post. The perfect finish.
52' Atletico have started the second half well. Lemar and Carrasco combine to find the latter in space at the edge of the area. He shows some neat footwork to tee himself up for a shot, which deflects behind off Gabriel for another corner. Hermoso meets this one but mistimes his header and it loops over.
50' Carrasco comes infield from the right, drifting in between defenders as he gets into the penalty area. He has a shot with his left foot but it's an unconvincing effort which goes well wide of the near post.
48' Carrasco fires in a low ball from the right which Joao Felix latches onto at the near corner of the six-yard box. He can't control it to shoot but touches it back to Suarez, whose first-time effort deflects behind for a corner.
Hugo Guillamón
M. Diakhaby
47' Diakhaby's second half lasts less than two minutes as he limps off. Guillamon comes on in his place.
46' Diakhaby looks like he's going to have to go straight back off. He chased Lemar back towards his own goal and beat him to the ball, knocking it out of play before immediately gesturing to the bench and sitting down.
45' We're back underway for the second half.
Renan Lodi
Š. Vrsaljko
45' Atletico make a change at the break. Renan Lodi is on for Vrsaljko.
It's the sort of game where a bit of energy off the bench could end up making the difference. A debut winner for Dembele, perhaps?
This has been a really good game, and 1-1 is a fair reflection of it. Atletico have shaded the chances and went close early on through Joao Felix and Gimenez, before Racic broke the deadlock with a gorgeous curling effort from range. Joao Felix stabbed in from a super Lemar corner to level the scores, and it has been competitive since then, with both sides having half-chances. Atletico are maybe just about on top, but there's not a lot in it. Hopefully the second half will carry on where the first has ended.
45' + 2' Joao Felix hits the free-kick straight into the wall. Straight into Soler's face, actually. He took it for the team.
45' + 1' Llorente can't control the ball well enough to shoot at the edge of the area but he's fouled as he stretches to bring it under his spell. Atletico have a free-kick, six yards beyond the edge of the D, absolutely dead centre.
44' Coming to the end of the half, it has been a good one. If either side could nick another goal before the break, that would be a massive boost in a well-fought game like this.
43' Lemar concedes a free-kick in the Valencia penalty area, but it might well have gone the other way. Lemar gets into the area and lobs the ball over the keeper into a crowd. The ball is headed away towards the edge of the area by Diakhaby where it's picked up by Gomez. He and Lemar both end up in a tangle on the ground, but the decision goes against Lemar for a high foot. That could have been a penalty.
42' Suarez slips the ball through the legs of Gabriel just inside the Valencia half. If he was in his pomp, he would probably have been through on goal. As it is, he's 34, and two covering defenders make up the ground easily enough to intercept and carry the ball to safety.
41' Diakhaby gets above Vrsaljko and directs a header down towards goal, but it's a simple take for Oblak.
40' Cheryshev finds Musah in space on the right with a good cross-field pass, though the bounce of the ball just takes it away from the youngster. Unable to take it forward and shoot, he delivers a good-looking cross to the near corner of the six-yard box, and Gimenez heads it behind for a corner.
39' Correia goes through the back of Joao Felix midway inside the Atletico half to prevent a counter-attack.
38' Musah is proving a thorn in Atletico's side over on the Valencia right. His off-the-ball movement has been very good, at times sticking to the touchline then popping up in the half-space just outside the area.
36' There's not been a load of chances so far besides the goals, but this has been a lot more competitive then the league table might have suggested before kick-off. The next goal could go either way.
34' Soler just misses an interception at the edge of his own area, the ball squirming between his legs as he tries to close his feet. Llorente seizes on the loose ball and directs a left-footed shot towards the bottom-left corner, and a deflection takes it just wide.
32' There was some pretty poor play-acting from Vallejo a moment ago. He tussled with Savic in the area and, in defence of the Valencia man, Savic flashed a hand across his neck. Vallejo went down holding his face, then his forehead at the side of the pitch, as everybody else ignored him and carried on. He was back up on his feet once Valencia came forward with the ball again.
Š. Vrsaljko
Yellow Card
30' It's getting a bit testy now. Vrsaljko is shown the first yellow card of the night for elbowing Vallejo as they contested a high ball in the centre circle.
30' Gaya tackles Vrsaljko well over to the left of the Valencia penalty area. He gets the ball and a bit of the man, and both players go down in a heap. There's not a lot of contact, and it's Gaya who seems to come off worse anyway - but they're both back up after a moment.
28' That was Joao Felix's first goal of 2021, and his ninth of the season overall - equalling his tally from 2019-20.
27' Looking back at it, Suarez on the goalline did give a little shove in the chest of Soler, but it would have been very harsh to rule a goal out for if that's what Valencia were complaining about.
25' There's a VAR check after the goal - of course, that's what the game's all about - as Valencia seem very annoyed about an alleged push from the goalscorer. The goal stands, and it's hard to see exactly what they were so fired up about. Good goal, game on.
T. Lemar
23' Lemar gets the assist for a superb delivery from the corner.
João Félix
23' GOAL! 1-1, Joao Felix turns home! It's a goal from a corner and Lemar must get credit for an excellent delivery. He fires in a superb inswinging corner towards the back post, and the Portuguese starlet is just able to hold off Correia and stab the ball in with the bottom of his boot. Domenech gets a touch but can't keep it out.
21' A Valencia goal is probably what this game needed first. The leaders have plenty of time to come back, but they will have to prove they are worthy of their spot at the top of the table tonight.
19' The Valencia defence almost pass their way into trouble at the back and Suarez is able to intercept with his head inside the penalty area. He gets his forehead to it but can't quite react quickly enough to control it, and the ball bounces through to Domenech. Joao Felix was lurking with intent if Suarez could have nodded it in his direction.
17' Atletico haven't done a lot with the ball since those early chances for Joao Felix and Gimenez. Valencia have settled and are looking more confident after a passive start.
15' Valencia win a free-kick in a deep position on the right. Soler looks to measure in a cross but slightly underhits his delivery and it's easy enough to clear away.
13' The goal was Racic's first in La Liga. That's a hell of a way to break your duck!
U. Račić
11' WHAT A GOAL! 1-0 VALENCIA, RACIC WITH A STUNNER! It comes out of nowhere. Gaya knocks it into his path in a central position some 30 yards out. With nobody closing him down, Racic looks up and wraps his left foot around the ball first time, curling it away from Oblak into the top-right corner. An absolute beauty.
José Gayà
11' The assist goes to Gaya for a simple pass.
10' Chances at both ends inside the first 10 minutes! Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
9' Vallejo carries the ball forward for Valencia but he scuffs his pass as he looks to square it to Cheryshev at the edge of the area. It comes back to Vallejo moments later - he skips around Vrsaljko and flashes a cross-shot towards goal but Oblak manages to squirm it away.
8' Atletico have started well, and could have scored twice. Valencia are yet to really put anything together.
7' Good save Domenech! The corner is met by Gimenez and he gets a good connection on his goalbound header, but the keeper flashes his right hand across to tip it away.
6' Gaya and Racic combine to shepherd Llorente out as he looks to pull a cross back from the right byline. Corner.
4' Atletico haven't lost any of their last nine home league games against Valencia, and have won four of the last five. The last time Valencia won here in La Liga wasn't here at all; it was at the Vicente Calderon in February 2011.
2' An early chance for Joao Felix! He brings a high ball down with his shoulder and drives towards the penalty area. From the right of centre, he shoots right-footed toward the bottom left corner but drags his effort just wide of the post. A bright start from Atletico.
1' We're off!
The teams are on their way out and we're almost ready for kick-off.
The history books are firmly on Atletico’s side going into this one. They are unbeaten in their last 12 league games against Valencia, and their last nine at home. Simeone has never lost a home league game against Valencia as Atletico manager.
Atletico make three changes with Hermoso, Koke and Felix coming in, while January signing Dembele makes the bench. Valencia defender Gabriel has just signed a new contract with the club and he starts with the visitors making two changes. Musah and Vallejo come into the XI.
