That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
This victory for Arsenal moves them up to fourth in the table with 11 points, they face Manchester United next weekend in the league. However, they welcome Nottingham Forrest on Tuesday, in the EFL Cup. Meanwhile Villa remain 18th and they return home next weekend, when they will face Burnley. They are also in EFL Cup action in midweek, travelling to Brighton.
Arsenal complete a terrific comeback to beat Aston Villa 3-2, despite being behind for much of the game and they went down to 10 men at the end of the first half. Villa led 1-0 at the break and went close to doubling their lead, before Arsenal won a penalty after Guendouzi was fouled by Engels and Pepe stepped up to convert it. However, it took Villa just 90 seconds to go ahead again, with Wesley finishing at the near post to make it 2-1. The Gunners then threw everything at their opponents, who dropped deeper and deeper and Arsenal finally got their reward late on, with Chambers scoring the equaliser, before Aubameyang scored a superb free-kick to clinch all three points for the hosts.
P. Aubameyang
Yellow Card
90' + 5' Aubameyang is booked late on, after he brings Grealish down as the Villa man tried to break forward on the counter.
90' + 3' There's just a few minutes left on the clock now, can Villa get another goal and make it 3-3 late on?
B. Leno
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Leno is booked for timewasting whilst taking a free-kick. The Gunners are just running down the clock now.
90' There will be a minimum of FIVE minutes added time played.
89' PENALTY SHOUT! Villa play a quick free-kick out to El Mohamady, he pulls the ball back to Hourihane on the edge of the box, who fires a first-time shot at goal, that appears to be blocked by the arm of Sokratis. The Villa players surround the referee appealing for a penalty. However, it appears to strike the shoulder of the Gunners defender and VAR say no penalty.
88' You wouldn't put it past Villa going and scoring another here to equalise, they are pushing forward once again and now it's Arsenal's turn to sit deep and soak up the pressure.
H. Lansbury
A. El Ghazi
Aston Villa
86' Third and final Villa substitution, with El Ghazi replaced by Lansbury.
N. Pépé
Yellow Card
85' Pepe is booked after the Arsenal goal.
C. Hourihane
M. Nakamba
Aston Villa
85' Villa change in the aftermath of the goal, with Nakamba replaced by Hourihane.
P. Aubameyang
84' GOOOAAALLL! Arsenal lead 3-2! Terrific strike by Aubameyang, he steps up to take the free-kick, gets it up and over the Villa wall and into the bottom right-hand corner of the net. Heaton didn't move! What a turnaround!
B. Engels
Yellow Card
Aston Villa
83' Arsenal have a free-kick in a very good position, after Engels brings Aubameyang down around 25 yards out.
C. Chambers
81' GOOOAAALLL! Arsenal are back level, it's 2-2! Chambers with a smart finish from close range to the level the scoreline. Guendouzi with a good cross into the box, it's half cleared by Villa, but there are just too many bodies in the box and Chambers gets to the ball first, poking it into the top corner of the net.
79' Blocked! Chambers with a low strike from just inside the box, but Villa have everyone back and manage to block the ball out wide for a corner. Heaton is urging his defenders to push out and stop dropping deep.
78' Stoppage in play here as McGinn is down with a head injury after a clash with Kolasinac, but it appears to be by accident and nothing is given by the referee.
76' The pressure is building now, Villa are dropping deeper and deeper and they are having to do a lot of defending at the moment. Aubameyang with the latest chance for the Gunners, but his shot is well blocked.
74' Villa are getting back in numbers down, making it difficult for Arsenal to break them down, but the Gunners are certainly getting closer.
L. Torreira
Dani Ceballos
72' The other change sees Ceballos come off and he has been replaced by Torreira.
J. Willock
G. Xhaka
72' Arsenal make a double substitution, with Xhaka coming off and he has been replaced by Willock.
70' There's a coming together between Heaton and Guendouzi in the box after the Villa keeper feels that the Gunners man went down far too easily in the box, looking for a penalty. Nothing is given and both players are given a talking to by the referee.
Ahmed El Mohamady
Aston Villa
68' Villa make their first substitution, with Trezeguet coming off and he has been replaced by El Mohamady.
66' Saved! David Luiz gets the ball up and over the wall, but Heaton reads it and does well to tip the ball over the crossbar.
65' Free-kick to Arsenal in a good position after Guilbert fouls Xhaka around 35 yards out. It looks like David Luiz is going to step up to take it...
64' Aston Villa have a record of W1 D1 L3 from their opening five matches of this Premier League season, the exact same record they had at this stage in their last top-flight campaign in 2015-16 when they finished bottom of the league.
62' Villa want a third goal now, they look strong in attack and have had a couple of decent shots at goal in the last couple of minutes, but Leno has been equal to them. Arsenal don't look confident at the back.
J. Grealish
Aston Villa
60' Grealish drives to the byline as the Arsenal defence drop off him and he then picks out Wesley at the near post.
Aston Villa
60' GOOOAAALLL! Villa are back in the lead, it's 2-1! Wesley with the finish to send the visitors ahead, just 90 seconds after Arsenal equalised. Grealish with a superb run into the Arsenal final third, he then picks out Wesley at the near post with a superb cross, who shows great composure to just get to the ball ahead of Leno and put the ball into the back of the net.
N. Pépé
Penalty Goal
59' GOOOAAALLL! Arsenal are back in the game, it's 1-1! Pepe converts from the penalty spot, scoring his first Arsenal goal. The winger drills the ball into the middle of the goal, with Heaton diving to his left. Game on.
58' ARSENAL PENALTY! It's a terrific run by Guendouzi, he sprints into the box and Engels shoves him to the ground as the midfielder skips past him. We're having a VAR check, but there is no doubt that it is a penalty.
57' This is better from Arsenal, they've started to ramp up the pressure, playing the ball quicker around the pitch and they are starting to find a few gaps in the Villa midfield.
55' It's end-to-end at the moment, both teams attacking in numbers and it's being played at a terrific pace. Just lacking quality in the final third.
53' Good move by Villa! Grealish with a good ball off to McGinn just inside the penalty area, however, the midfielder doesn't get enough power behind his curling shot and Leno makes a comfortable save.
52' ALMOST! Excellent play by Mings, he does brilliantly down the left-wing, totally out of position, but he gets all the way to the left byline and then whips a low cross into the box, which Sokratis blocks, but he almost sends it into the back of his own net. Luckily for the Arsenal centre-back, it flies wide of the post.
51' Villa have started the second half well, pushing players forward in search of another goal and they are keeping the ball well. Arsenal are yet to get going.
49' Since making his debut for Aston Villa in August 2018, John McGinn has scored nine goals in league competition (including play-offfs) - no other current player at the club has netted more (Jonathan Kodjia also with nine)
47' Good opportunity here for Villa! They have a free-kick just on the edge of the penalty area, which McGinn is going to take... However, he fires the ball high over the crossbar.
46' The second half is underway!
C. Chambers
B. Saka
46' Arsenal have made a substitution ahead of the second half, with Saka making way for Chambers, who will come on at right-back.
Arsenal might be forced into making changes at half-time, with Xhaka currently playing at right-back following the sending off. The visitors look comfortable at the moment, holding a well-deserved lead.
Aston Villa are a man and a goal up at half-time, they lead 1-0 at the break after McGinn's goal on 20 minutes. Arsenal started the better of the two sides, but are yet to really test Heaton in the Villa goal. McGinn put the visitors ahead after a lovely cross into the box by El Ghazi, which the midfielder glances into the bottom corner of the net. The Gunners then went down to 10 men on 41 minutes, after Maitland-Niles was shown a second yellow card for a late challenge on Taylor, that also saw the player pick up an injury.
45' + 2' Arsenal look very frustrated at the moment, they have struggled to get going again since the sending off and Villa look comfortable. Xhaka is currently filling in at right-back.
45' There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played.
M. Guendouzi
Yellow Card
44' Guendouzi is the latest Arsenal player to be booked after his protests to the officials after Wesley's challenge.
44' Just a free-kick is awarded, as VAR shows that Sokratis put his head into the leg of Wesley and not the other way around. The centre-back made a big deal out of very little there.
43' There's a coming together between Sokratis and Wesley deep inside the Arsenal half, with the Arsenal defender going down clutching his face after appearing to get struck in the face by the boot of the striker.
A. Maitland-Niles
Yellow 2nd/RC
41' SENDING OFF! Maitland-Niles is shown a second yellow card and is given his marching orders by the referee. The right-back has to be helped off the pitch by the physio, after his challenge on Taylor. Arsenal are down to 10 men.
39' It looks like Maitland-Niles is going to be shown a second yellow card here! The right-back dives into the tackle with Taylor, catching the left-back late and the referee has the yellow card in his hand. However, he is unable to show him it just yet, as the defender is down on the ground injured.
37' Offside! Mings goes close to scoring a second for Villa, with a free header in the box, but he powers it just wide of the Arsenal goal. but it wouldn't have counted anyway because the centre-back was well offside.
G. Xhaka
Yellow Card
35' Xhaka is the second Arsenal player to be booked, after he drags Grealish down as the midfielder broke forward. The Gunners skipper didn't really need to make that challenge as he had team-mates near him. A cheap yellow card to pick up.
33' Wesley with a strike from long range, his first attempt on goal for Villa today. The striker hasn't been involved too much so far and his effort from the edge of the penalty area doesn't trouble Leno, who makes a comfortable save.
31' Saka and Pepe have looked lively for Arsenal so far today, they've done well down the wings, constantly cutting inside and running at their defenders, looking to fire efforts towards goal.
29' We're midway through the first half now and Villa lead 1-0, but Arsenal are pressing forward in search of an equaliser before the break.
27' Not too far away! Saka drills the ball towards the top corner of the net, which causes Heaton to scramble across his goal, but it flies narrowly over the bar.
26' Arsenal look very open in midfield, with Grealish and McGinn being allowed plenty of space in the middle of the pitch, covering a lot of ground and Xhaka and Guendouzi just can't keep up at the moment.
24' Only Manchester United and Chelsea (4) have won more Premier League away games against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium than Aston Villa (3), with the Villans winning there in 2008, 2011 and 2013.
22' The Villa fans are making a huge amount of noise inside the Emirates now, they are delighted by the start that their side have made. Arsenal look shocked.
A. El Ghazi
Aston Villa
20' El Ghazi cut inside from the left wing and then whips a lovely ball into the penalty area, aiming for Wesley, but he misses it. However, McGinn was just behind him and he happily converts from close range.
J. McGinn
Aston Villa
20' GOOOAAALLL! Villa lead 1-0! McGinn drifts into the Arsenal box totally unmarked and glances El Ghazi's cross into the bottom corner. A deft touch from the midfielder, with no Arsenal players anywhere near him.
18' BLOCKED! Mings with a superb block to deny Pepe after the winger shows great skill to get past Taylor and then fires a shot towards the far corner of the net. However, Mings does well to get across and block the shot, sending it over the crossbar and out for a corner.
16' CHANCE! Pepe cuts in front the right wing, onto his left foot and fires a shot towards goal, but it's blocked and falls to Kolasinac at the far post, who heads it back across goal, falling to Aubameyang, who just can't sort his feet out quickly enough and the ball bounces off him and Heaton gratefully gathers.
14' There isn't much separating the two sides at the moment, Arsenal are seeing more of the ball but they aren't doing much with it. Aubameyang has barely touched the ball so far.
12' El Ghazi steps up to take the free-kick, he gets it around the Arsenal wall, but it's not far enough in the corner and Leno makes a comfortable save.
A. Maitland-Niles
Yellow Card
11' Maitland-Niles is shown the first yellow card of the game, after he trips El Ghazi as he approaches the edge of the penalty area.
11' Good effort! McGinn is allowed far too much time and space around 30 yards out, he beats Pepe and then fires the ball towards goal, but the strike is straight at Leno, who pushes it away to safety.
10' Arsenal have won their last six competitive meetings with Aston Villa in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in each of the last five.
8' The visitors have settled into the game now, it's fairly open as both teams are struggling to keep the ball for a sustained period, a few too many sloppy passes in midfield.
6' It looks like Villa are keen to break forward on the counter when they can, exploiting an early defence that conceded two against Watford last weekend.
4' Good early pressure by Arsenal here, they are keeping the ball well and have Villa penned inside their own half. Can they get an early goal?
2' Decent chance! Early opportunity for Arsenal as Maitland-Niles manages to find space in the middle of the box, drifting in from the right wing. The ball flies straight to the right-back and has time and space to pick his spot, but he gets the volley all wrong and smashes it high over the crossbar. He should be doing better there.
1' We're underway!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick off is just a few minutes away. Stay tuned for all of the match action!

The Gunners led 2-0 at Vicarage Road last Sunday, but threw away victory in the second half, to leave themselves 10th in the table.
