Commentary

FULL TIME - Adelaide United are through to the semi finals!  The Elimination Final turned into a classic arm-wrestle and it took a 119th minute strike from Ben Halloran to finally break the deadlock.  Heartbreak for Melbourne City who looked to have finished the stronger in extra time but it will be Adelaide United to head west to take on the premiers, Perth Glory, on Friday night in the first semi-final.  At full time:  Adelaide United 1 Melbourne City 0.

22' Brattan spots an opening and pulls the trigger from beyond the area however he has swung his shot straight into the waiting arms of Izzo.  Adelaide United and Melbourne City have both had 27 shots on target in 2018/2019 from outside the box, the lowest in the A-League.
21' Luke Brattan floats a nicely weighted ball to the far post where there are plenty of blue shirts waiting to pounce however Izzo gets a timely fist on the ball - corner to Melbourne City.
19' Berenguer goes down in the tackle but there is no free kick forthcoming for City and so United are able to sweep the ball clear down the right hand side.
16' Melbourne City haven't seen too much of the ball so far but, patient at the back, they try to build some momentum through the middle of the field.
