After toiling for 540 minutes without a win, Frank Ouna finally managed to bring to an end a six-match winless run. The Bankers, still learning the ropes following their promotion to the top tier, finally managed to walk away with the three points in a victory against AFC Leopards.

The Soldiers did not only manage to grab a win away from home but also ended their poor run of form against Sony Sugar thanks to a 2-1 win at the Awendo Green Stadium. Ulinzi Stars finally brought to an end a seven-match winless run against Sony Sugar spanning way back to 2015.

  • AFC Leopards fans react during their league match against Bandari in Mombasa.

    AFC Leopards’ poor run continues

A single win is what Marko Vasiljevic has to show for in seven KPL games as pressure now mounts for the Serbian after a poor start to the season. There is nothing good to smile about as Ingwe, once again came out with nothing from a futile hunt against KCB. The Bankers beat high spending Ingwe by a solitary goal to add to a draw against Nzoia Sugar one week ago.

  • Mathare United beat Tusker.

    Mathare United maintain the lead

Mathare United, Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks are the only side yet to taste defeats in the Kenyan Premier League this season. The ‘Slum Boys’ took their unbeaten record to seven league matches with a 2-1 victory over Tusker. The win left Mathare United still perched at the summit with 17 points, two above second placed Bandari.

  • Nixon Omondi of Kariobangi Sharks KENNEDY OTIENO 'Agogo' of Western Stima.

    Western Stima unbeaten run halted

Kariobangi Sharks brought to a halt an impressive run by Western Stima as the Kisumu-based side suffered their first defeat on Sunday. The newly-promoted side had gone six games without losing a match in the top tier but a George Abege and Harrison Mwendwa’s first-half goals halted coach Paul Agayi’s good start to the campaign.

  • Sofapaka v Mount Kenya United.

    Sofapaka struggles getting worse

KCB’s win over AFC Leopards might dispel talks that all the 'Big Cats' are struggling in the top league, but there are some shreds of truth to that statement.  Sofakaka, just like Ingwe is finding it hard wading through the murky waters of KPL. Batoto Ba Mungu was for the fourth time this season forced to a draw. That, plus defeats against Bandari and Tusker is not making things any better for coach Melil Medo, who has won only one game.
