World Cup: Eye-catching Socceroos mural unveiled in Melbourne

Mile Jedinak is ready to rumble in Russia

A Socceroos mural in Melbourne depicting Australian skipper Mile Jedinak catching Russian President Vladimir Putin in a rather tender area is quickly catching the eye ahead of the World Cup.

Commissioned by Sportsbet, the 10 x 4 metre mural was created by Scott Marsh over four days on the corner of Johnston and Chapel Street in Fitzroy.

Russia are of course hosting the upcoming World Cup with Putin playing a key role in his country securing the world's biggest football tournament.

The Socceroos recently arrived in Russia with an opening game against France in Kazan on June 16 looming.

Jedinak might not actually be in action against the French, with the Aussie skipper forced to settle for a spot on the bench in the Socceroos two friendlies leading up to the tournament.

Check out a time lapse of the mural being created below.
