Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya says his team deserved to beat Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League Super Cup.

The Shield Cup winners registered a 1-0 win against the Kenyan Premier League champions to pick their second win in as many matches against the Green Army. The youthful tactician believes the win will spur the team to greater heights in the future assignments.

“It was a good game, we played with a great tempo and deserved to win. From the match, we have what it takes to do well this season, it shows what we can achieve locally and in the continent. Our character was good and it happens when you face bigger sides.

“It is going to be a tough season and an exciting one in equal measure, we will give our best,” Muluya told Goal.com in an interview.

Sharks will next play Arta Solar in the second leg of Caf Confederation Cup needing a draw to progress after a 6-1 win in the first leg.
