Akwa United vs. Wikki Tourist
The hitherto midweek game has been postponed by 24 hours to enable the home team recover after their long journey from Benin City

Wikki Tourists rescheduled home game with Lobi Stars earlier billed for Wednesday will now take place on Thursday after the management of the Giant Elephants asked for the tie to be moved by one day.

The Bauchi side were beaten 2-0 by Bendel Insurance in their last away trip and started their onward journey to Gombe their makeshift home ground with the Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi not yet ready to host league games.

The head coach of the Bauchi side, Aliyu Zubairu confirmed that the management asked for the game to be moved to Thursday to enable them to prepare very well following their exhaustive journey back to Gombe from Benin.

“Our game with Lobi Stars will now come up on Thursday because I was told by the management of the club that they asked for the shift from the League Management Company (LMC) and it has been granted,” Zubairu told GOAL.

“We are expecting another tough game but we are up to the task and we will like to secure another home win after the defeat to Bendel Insurance which was due to a lot of factors. We have put that loss behind us and are working towards getting the maximum points against Lobi Stars.

“I am happy to tell you that we do not have any injury worry and we are looking forward to Thursday with our sights on securing the three points.”

Wikki Tourists are in the ninth spot with 15 points from 12 games in the topflight Group A while Lobi Stars are in the fifth spot with 16 points from 10 matches.
